Zoo Days in Kansas!

I Love hanging around with this group of "Monkeys"...this past November we spent a few days in Kansas with Rays Sister Pam. One of the days was spent at the Sedgwick County Zoo. The kids loved it and it was really fun spending time with Ray and the kids.

Grandpa Great & Syrus!

This picture was taken last year but I just remembered that I had it. I love this picture of my Granpa because it just shows that your never too old to ride. If anything riding bikes help keep you young....at the very least, young at heart!!

Happy Birthday Syrus!

Syrus wanted to do two things for his Birthday; go to Chucky Cheese & ride motorcycles. So we did both! Since his birthday was over the memorial day weekend we went to Chucky Cheese first and took a few friends along. Bransen Peterson, Trey Nelson, Zachary & Ryken Lay were among the few he wanted to share his birthday with at Chuckys. Then camping we went...to Eureka! A few friends were camping also and Syrus was excited to have SOOOO many people at his birthday party. He rode non-stop and learned he could do a few new tricks. Happy Birthday Syrus! We Love YOU!!!

Syrus has his race face on!

Syrus had his race face on Sat. 6th of June at the Firebirds Desert Race. He raced on the Pee-Wee course and did a Great job! He had a few tumbles but got right back up on his bike like the champ that he is! He raced along side 30 other kids and wasn't afraid to pass kids on bigger bikes and four wheelers. Syrus can't wait till his next race this coming weekend. Go Syrus!!!

Isaac Takes 4th Over ALL ...Pine Wood Derby

On Tuesday May 12th Isaac competed in his first Pine Wood Derby race as a Wolf Cub Scout. Ray and Isaac had worked on his car long and hard and were ready to see how fast it could go. Even Syrus had joined in the fun with his own derby car. Ray would show Isaac how to do something to the car by first demonstrating it on Syrus's car and then have Isaac copy him. Ray did save Isaac the trouble and painted the car himself. The day before the race I went to check out the cars. I guess Syrus thought the paint job wasn't quite right and decided to paint over it. So Ray had to re sand the car and then re-paint it. Isaac car was a leading contender in all of the heat races. His car seemed to come in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd many times. His car finally finished with the 4th place trophy! He receive a hand carved race car driver bolo-tie to where with his uniform. He was SO excited and can't wait till next year. After all the races Syrus got to test his car out and raced it against Isaac's and the other scouts. His car was also really fast.
