Here Comes Santa!

This year we went to our annual family Christmas party on Christmas Eve at my parents house. The kids had a lot of fun playing with cousins and seeing Santa!

Syrus Kindergarten Luau

This year Syrus is in Mrs. Toelupe's Kindergarten class. They decided to have a Luau. Here is a video of Syrus and his classmates.

Syrus got ran over by the Christmas Tree!

On the Sunday after Christmas Syrus has a run in with the Christmas Tree! Actually he triped into the tree holding a pocket knife. So out to the truck and off to the E.R. we did go. He ended up with 4 inside stiches and eight outside stiches. I guess you could say the tree won that fight. But the tree has now been kicked out of the house and the pocket knife got thrown away.

Saturday Oct. 3rd

Today I took the kids out to Elberta to ride. It was a little difficult getting everything ready but once on the road everything was great! Ray is out of town so I thought it would be fun to go take some pictures of the kids and give them to him on Tuesday for his birthday. Your probably asking yourself "if giving Ray the pictures is suppose to be a surprise why post it"? Well, he never looks at my blog so I have nothing to fear, right? Except on the very small chance that he will look at the blog. Oh well I am going to take that chance. Today was a bit of a challenge well worth it. The boys liked the new place to ride and the girls just had fun getting dirty. Maybe next time Ray can go!

A day with the kids

On Sunday the 13th of Sept. I took the kids to Discovery Park in P.G. efore going over to my nephews birthday party. It was fun to watch the kids run, play and get dirty. Then we just had to stop and take pictures with the"Monster" truck and it's tires. Yeah More Dirt! It was a fun day!!

Isaac's 9th Birthday

Isaac turned 9 on Sept. 16th so Ray And I took Isaac and the kids to Pirate Island in Orem. We had a lot of fun playing games, eating the Biggest Pizza I have ever seen ( The Kraken 24", It's HUGE people) and just spending time with the fam. The following Friday Isaac had his "Premier Party" with his "V.I.P." Friends. We rolled out the red carpet and each person got to show his best moves as the crowd cheered them on. Then they all had a chance to except their academy award. Then as the candles were blown out the outdoor movie began. They all had their sleeping bags and blankets rolled out on our front lawn to watch a double feature Bionicle and Zathura. All got a turn at the concession stand to choose their very own movie size candy, popcorn, nachos, and homemade root beer. Some had a late night and some got to sleep over. All in all it reached the highest scores ever seen at the Butts Family Box office! Next Showing TBA

Firebirds Poker Run Aug. '09

This is the kids highlight of the day! They get to go on a ride just for the kids, play a game at the end of the ride, and get a bag full of goodies! Nothing else can top this and our kids look forward to it every year! Thanks Firebirds for all the hard work!

Daddy to the rescue!

At the Firebirds annual Poker Run, Syrus learned how important it is to use his back brake on his motorcycle. Syrus got going a little TOO fast down a Very Steep, very rocky, with lots of turns hill. Ray and I were following behind Syrus and watched as he went faster and faster down this hill. We couldn't safely keep up with him and finally lost him after a few turns. We ended up catching up to him after he had crashed. We found him sitting on the ground, bike facing the way he had just came and tears streaking down his face. The first thing he said to his daddy was"I tried to ride it out, dad".

Syrus had a rough day with too really bad wrecks but it didn't stop him from finishing the ride and all said and done he had a lot of fun!

Syrus and I got the opportunity to sit in Kyle Busch's M&M car and play a simulation car race. Syrus thought it was pretty cool

Veggies...Veggies...MORE VEGGIES!!!

What to do with all this produce!! Our families garden has taken off this year and we have been blessed with more vegetables than I know what to do with. So far we have canned mustard pickles, salsa, beets, blackberry jam, zucchini realish, and frozen zucchini and yellow squash, We have about 15-20 pumpkins, 12 or so cantaloupe, and 3-5 watermelons. Tonight I am going to attempt to start sauerkraut. We have had numerous purple and green cabbage and a few broccoli and cauliflower as well. Our lemon cucumbers are now starting to outnumber everything esle. It's been quite the adventure and I hope next year goes equally as well!

Syrus's Kindergarten Evaluation

Syrus had his Kindergarten testing today! He was so excited but a little confused that he didn't get to start school today along with Isaac. He also had his hearing and speech tested. He did GREAT!!!

Isaac's First day in Third Grade!!!

Today was the first day of school for my sweet Isaac. He started 3rd grade today! He is getting so big and is excited that he will learn how to write in cursive soon.

R.I.P. Mr. Da Frog

Mr. Da Frog is MIA after a fish tank cleaning went bad. On replacing Mr. Da Frog back into the fish tank after it's cleaning, Mr. Da Frog jumped out of the net and darted under the storage room door. The kids are afraid to report that Mr. Da Frog may be lost forever or until his sweet stench will lead us to him.

Bugsty and Shrimp will surely miss him...

Isaac and Syrus had a lot of fun playing on the train and catching grasshoppers and other insects. They are going to crush a lot of little girls hearts growing up.

We finally had family pictures taken on August 1, 2009. Rachel with Time Held Photography did a wonderful job. I can't wait to get the prints back!!!

My little girls ONE!

Sophie turned one on August 2!! I can't believe it has been a full year. Time as flown by. Family came over to celebrate her Fairy birthday. She is after all our little pixie. She hasn't gotten very big but she is starting to let us know she has a BIG personality!! She got so messy eating her birthday cake that we decided to just throw her into a tub outside. Hailey was a big helper as she tried to give her little sis a bath. I think Hailey had more fun playing with her bubbles. This will be a day to remember.

Now that's tired!

One night the family was watching T.V. and Hailey had been missing for about 5 minutes...this is how I found her. She must have been just a bit tired to fall asleep on the stairs.
